Speaker at NEPCA Conference 2017: Greed & Goomahs: Toxic Masculinity in TV's New Golden Age
Excited to announce that I'll be speaking at the 2017 Northeast Popular & American Culture Association Conference in late October! My talk is entitled, "Greed & Goomahs: Toxic Masculinity in TV's New Golden Age."
I've dedicated a significant amount of time to analyzing Mad Men, Breaking Bad, and The Sopranos, and I've identified commonalities among the three shows that illustrate the new Golden Age of Television's unabashed critique of toxic masculinity. I'm thrilled to get the chance to share my insights at my first academic conference, and I'm looking forward to returning to the Boston area for the first time in almost 8 years(!).
Thanks, and as hungover Dr. Melfi would say, "Toodle-f*cking-oo!"😂
