Speaking at PAX Dev 2016
Now that everything is officially approved, I’m excited to announce that DigiPen English instructor Sonia Michaels and I will be hosting a panel called “Oh, the Humanities!” at PAX Dev 2016.
While I will share the date and time of our panel soon, here is a brief description:
Game studios need programmers, artists, and designers; they also need psychologists, historians, and literary scholars! There are many non-traditional pathways into the game industry; you just need to know how to make the most of your transferable skills. This panel will offer resources to help you locate and/or create the opportunities to build your game-industry career, even if you don't have a Computer Science or Fine Arts degree.
I'm thrilled to speak at a major industry event after presenting my narrative analysis posters at GDC 2015 and 2016. I've encountered various painful frustrations during the past year, so it's wonderful to be able to celebrate this professional milestone.
Thanks for your support, and we hope to see you at PAX Dev 2016 (and PAX West, too!)!
